How to Set Up and Use our Wi-Fi Hotspots?

Is your Wi-Fi network signal insufficient to cover all the entrances and box offices on your event site? Thepointofsale.com offers Wi-Fi hotspots for rent to solve this problem.

Our hotspots use a SIM card that receives and redistributes the 4G or 5G network into a Wi-Fi signal. It is essential to ensure that the site of your event has a stable, high-performance LTE, 4G or 5G network connection so that our hotspots can be used.

Once you have confirmed the stability of the network on site, you can install our hotspots using the following procedure:

Set-up Procedure

  1. Remove the terminal from its box;
    ​

  2. Screw the 2.4G antennas into the 2.4G holes, then the 4G antennas into the 3/4G holes;
    ​

  3. Connect the device to a power outlet and wait at least 15 minutes before the network can be detected;
    ​

  4. Open the pass validation application. In your Wi-Fi settings, look for the network named Borne Wi-fi LDPV 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5;
    ​

  5. Enter the password indicated under the hotspot device to access the Wi-Fi.

There you go! Your hotspot is now operational!

Troubleshooting

If the Wi-Fi hotspot does not work after 15 minutes and does not appear in the list of available networks :

  • First refresh the list of Wi-Fi networks from the ticket validation device;

  • Make sure that the SIM card is correctly inserted into the Wi-Fi hotspot on the correct side;
    ​

  • Ensure the antennas are screwed in the right places;

  • The Wi-Fi hotspot could also be named according to the identification number on the underside of the device, rather than Borne Wi-fi LDPV 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.

    If it appears on the list of available networks, connect to it. You will not need a password, as access to the Wi-Fi will be public.

WARNING

If you notice a significant drop in the speed of your Wi-Fi after several hours of use, unplug the hotspot for 2 to 10 minutes, then plug it back on. This action should solve the problem and restore the Wi-Fi's initial performance.
