Generating a chargeback involves several steps and can last over an extended period. This explains why you may only be informed of a chargeback request after your event has concluded.

Here are the steps that must be completed:

  • The credit card holder contacts their credit card issuer;

  • The card issuer investigates by analyzing the supporting documents provided by the cardholder;

  • The card issuer determines whether the chargeback criteria are met;

  • The card issuer informs the cardholder of their decision;

  • The card issuer contacts Thepointofsale.com through its merchant account to inform them of the decision;

  • Thepointofsale.com contacts the cardholder to explain the transaction, if possible;

  • If necessary, Thepointofsale.com may dispute the card issuer's decision;

  • If need be, Thepointofsale.com must provide supporting documents to the card issuer, who will make the conclusive decision;

  • The chargeback outcome is final, and the funds are credited or debited based on the decision. Additional fees may apply;

  • Thepointofsale.com then communicates with the concerned organization to inform them about the situation.
