Connectivity Issues
Connection Failure Between the Management Tool and the Streaming Platform
1- Check that the correct URL is added to your broadcast platform settings.
If the URL entered is incorrect, the platform cannot transmit the information from your video to the management tool and then broadcast it to your viewers.
If you have stopped and restarted the server, the link will have changed. In this case, please enter the new link in the broadcast platform.
2- If you are using OBS Studio, copy the URL from the Streaming process section and paste it into OBS Studio.
Also, make sure to copy the Key and paste it in the OBS Studio Key field.
Internet Connection Failure
Read our full article on this essential component of live streaming.
Although the recommended upload speed is 10 Mbit/s, our tests suggest you will likely encounter streaming problems with an upload speed below 15 Mbit/s.
It is also important to note that the speed varies depending on your network's traffic.
A speed test conducted at 1 p.m. could yield a very different result than one conducted at 7 p.m., when many people use the Internet.
Sharing your Internet Connection?
If someone else is watching videos, attending conferences, or playing online video games on the same connection as you, your ability to stream live video will be significantly affected.
Do you Allow Enough Time to Establish the Connection?
It can take several seconds after you start the video on your device for the chosen device to communicate with the management tool and establish a connection to the servers used for the live broadcast.
Our team has encountered delays lasting up to 45 seconds before a connection is established.
If the connection fails on the first try, stop the broadcast on your device, wait a few seconds, and try again.
Sound and Image Issues
Is Your Device Powerful Enough to Stream Live Videos?
Your device may not be powerful enough for live video. Whether it's a mobile device or a computer, the latter may lack power.
Ensure your software and capture device are set to 720p and 30 frames per second (FPS). If not, your device will try to produce a higher resolution than needed, which can cause unnecessary performance reduction with the software used.
Issues with OBS Studio
In Settings, click Video;
Change the Base (Canvas) Resolution and Output (Scaled) Resolution for 1280x720;
Change your Common FPS Value to 30;
In the Output tab, ensure that the Video Bitrate is set to 4000 and the Encoder is x264.
Are These Changes Still Not Helping?
Your computer or mobile device may not be powerful enough for streaming.
How to know?
Check whether broadcasting your video increases the activity rate of your processor (CPU) above 70%.
Check whether your device gets hot while streaming.
These signs indicate that your device lacks power.
