When using Vimeo, you have two viewing options:

  • One that redirects attendees to the Vimeo platform;

  • The other integrates the video uploaded to Vimeo into Thepointofsale.com's secure viewing page.

Redirecting Attendees to Vimeo

1- In the management tool, go to your event's Information tab.

2- In the Location section, choose the Virtual Location type, then the Vimeo Streaming Provider.

3- Add the Vimeo link of your video in the Video link field.

4- Under the Viewing option, choose Redirect the attendee on the streaming provider platform.

Embed the Video on Thepointofsale.com's Viewing Page

By integrating your Vimeo video on our viewing page, you'll benefit from our protection against link sharing and our tools, such as the participant counter and chat area.

Note that only Vimeo Premium accounts have access to live events.

From Your Vimeo Account

1- In your Vimeo account, click on + New Video.

2- Before clicking on Create live event, under Privacy, choose Hide this video from Vimeo. This option ensures that an individual cannot take and share your streaming link.

3- Click Create live event.

4- Enter the relevant information in the window that appears. If you didn't select the Privacy option in step 2, you can add it here.

5- On the next page, which is your event's page on Vimeo, click the Embed tab at the top left of the page.

6- Under Embed privacy, you must choose Specific domains and, in the section that appears below, enter Lepointdevente.com and Thepointofsale.com, then click the + sign.

** Important to enter both! **

**Have you opted for white label? Remember to enter your broadcasting domain too. **

What's it for?

This step ensures that an individual cannot steal your video and post it on another website, making it accessible to multiple individuals who haven't purchased a pass. Only people with a Thepointofsale.com (or Lepointdevente.com) unique link will be able to access your event.

7- We recommend that you select the following settings under Controls:

  • Playbar;

  • Volume;

  • Fullscreen.

Deselect everything else.

These options will optimize your customers' experience.

8- Back in the Event tab, copy the link under Link, then click on the icon with an arrow to the right of the field.

Hide Number of Attendees

By default, Vimeo displays the number of participants watching a video. If you want to hide this information, you need to make a quick modification to your account's settings.

  1. Go to your Vimeo account Settings.

  2. In the Settings menu, click on Videos, then Upload defaults.

  3. Under the Video preferences section, check the box Hide video stats and viewer count on the video page and in search results.

  4. Click Save.

By doing so, this preference will be applied to all the events in your Vimeo account, and the number of attendees will be hidden from the public.

From your Thepointofsale.com account :

1- In the management tool, go to your event's Information tab.

2- In the Location section, choose the Virtual Location type, then the Vimeo Streaming Provider.

3- Add the Vimeo link of your video in the Video link field.

4- In the Viewing option field, choose Embed video on the secured viewing page.

5- Still under the Location section, decide if you want to display the attendee count and the live chat.

6- In the Dates section:

  • Doors: Enter the time for which you want the chat tab to activate, if you choose to offer this option to your attendees;

  • Start Time: Enter the time at which you will be able to start live streaming.

IMPORTANT!

If you want to start your video in advance, you will need to change the start time.

The video will only be streamed at the time entered in the Start field in the Dates section.
